Pearl Room

Our Pearl Room is specially designed as a quite safe space for infants and toddlers up until they become steady on their feet. This room is limited in numbers to ensure a calm and peaceful environment to support the critical brain development occurring at this age. It is equipped with cubbies, mirrors, cushions and all of the sensory equipment our baby's love at this age. Outdoors, there are many things that can be moved, rolled and climbed to ensure those gross motor skills get a good work out. Children begin to develop their independence in this room by setting up their own kai space at meal times with placements etc and wiping down, emptying their plates etc at the end of lunch. We know our toddlers are capable learners so we fully explore their self help skills.

Pebbles Room

Our Pebbles Room is where the action of our toddlers happens from around 18 months to 2 ½ years. This room is designed to continue with the exploration of sensory learning opportunities. We have lots of blocks for stacking, things for posting, sorting and matching for that important eye hand coordination. Pipi Room

The Pipi Room comes alive with busy 2 - 3 year olds learning skills of resilience, self regulation and independence. We know children at this age love doing purpose work so we offer lots of opportunities to pour, refill, wipe up, spoon, tip out, pick up etc. We offer many different activities to keep their minds and hands busy and engaged. Outside they enjoy our beautiful garden to play and explore in. This is where the risk taking begins for our children to support their brain development that comes from climbing, balancing, swinging, running, jumping etc.

Paua Room

Our Paua Room is where the big kids begin their leadership journey with lots of opportunities to grow and develop into fine citizens of the world. They learn what its like to show empathy and to develop deeper respectful and responsive friendships with their peers. They enjoy a huge play area with lots of open ended resources to extend their imaginative play and use toys and equipment that have been upcycled. They are developing a respect for our planet and are beginning to understand concepts of science, geography, maths and literacy. They dig, plant, harvest and care for their garden. The explore with sand and water play and are beginning to use their critical thinking skills to invent, create and build and enjoy all types of creations.

We have an outdoor programme where our 4 year olds are taken weekly into the outdoors to explore our beautiful whenua and all it offers in our very own van. We learn about sea and land formations, history, sea creatures, bird life, pest control and our unique flora and fauna mainly around the Bluff area. This regular experience is a priority for us to continue making connections with our Tamariki to our community and the beautiful unique place we live in.
